Like Right Now: Queen Amang the Heather

I have just finished reading this biography of Belle Stewart, a Scottish traveller and singer who passed on to her daughter, Sheila, the songs she wrote her about life as a traveller. It was an interesting account, written with a certain naive style and rich with colourful tales of life in the Stewart family over the years. Additionally there are stories and songs that have been passed down.

You can’t talk about Belle without mentioning Sheila

Sheila travelled the world singing and telling stories at folk and storytelling festivals.
